Update on Zanrunix Assessment Process

As of 18 February 2025, Zanrunix ceased to be a Bettercoal Candidate Producer. Zanrunix signed the Letter of Commitment in July 2023, but has not progressed to site assessment. Demonstrating consistency is a key part of the Bettercoal process and given that Zanrunix have been unable to move forward within the provided timeframe the decision has been taken to disassociate from them.

The Bettercoal Code 2.0 is an internationally recognised Standard for assessing, assuring and sustaining stringent ethical, environmental and social performance in the coal mining supply chain. Being a Bettercoal Producer is an important way in which coal companies can demonstrate their commitment to these issues to key stakeholders.
