Sintracarbón strike at Cerrejón
Bettercoal has been following the negotiations between Cerrejón and Sintracarbón since the beginning of this year. We are, like all parties, concerned about the ongoing strike which was called by the union Sintracarbón on 31st August.
We have been actively engaged in communication with relevant parties and stakeholders to gain a better understanding of the concerns that have led to this strike being called. We welcome the participation of the Ministry of Labour to support the dialogue between both organisations to resolve this issue as swiftly as possible.
We hope that the dispute will conclude before too long and the issues will be resolved to everyone’s satisfaction.
