PT Bayan no longer a Bettercoal Producer

As of 4 February 2022, PT Bayan ceased to be a Bettercoal Producer. PT Bayan signed a Letter of Commitment to Bettercoal in 2019 but have not progressed to site assessment. Site assessments are a critical element of the Bettercoal process and therefore the decision has been taken to disassociate from them.

The Bettercoal Code 2.0 is an internationally recognised Standard for assessing, assuring and sustaining stringent ethical, environmental and social performance in the coal mining supply chain. Being a Bettercoal Producer is an important way in which coal companies can demonstrate their commitment to these issues to key stakeholders.
