Bettercoal producers are working towards meeting the expectations of our standard, the Bettercoal Code, and continually improving their operations through our Continuous Improvement Plan framework.

The Bettercoal Programme’s network of 6 producers covers three countries: Colombia, Germany, and USA.*

Stage 1: Commitment

The below producers have signed the Letter of Commitment to go through the Bettercoal Assessment Process. Producers will only become 'Bettercoal Producers' once the site assessment has taken place and the Continuous Improvement Plan has been agreed.

*The Bettercoal Programme has suspended our engagement with Russian producers with effect from April 2022, this includes KRU, SUEK JSC, SDS, Taldinskaya Mining Company LLC, as well as producers that were at Stage 1 Letter of Commitment, Taltek and KTK.
