PRODECO NO LONGER A BETTERCOAL PRODUCER

As of the 12th December, Prodeco ceased to be a Bettercoal Producer. Prodeco has been a Bettercoal Producer since 2017. While Prodeco relinquished its mining license in 2021, and therefore ceased mining operations, we have continued to engage with them as a Bettercoal Producer to enable open communication and a dialogue to address stakeholder concerns. Given that Prodeco is no longer actively mining coal and therefore no longer progressing with their CIP, we recognise that it is now appropriate to formally disassociate.

The Bettercoal Code 2.0 is an internationally recognised Standard for assessing, assuring and sustaining stringent ethical, environmental and social performance in the coal mining supply chain. Being a Bettercoal Producer is an important way in which coal companies can demonstrate their commitment to these issues to key stakeholders.
