Grosskraftwerk Mannheim AG operates one of Europe’s most efficient hard-coal-fired power stations in Mannheim, Germany. It generates electricity for people, trade and industry, as well as district heat for the metropolitan area Rhein-Neckar using the environmentally sound and cost-effective principle of combined power and heat. GKM is also an important supplier of single-phase railway power for DB Energie GmbH.
GKM is a power station jointly owned by its shareholders RWE Generation SE in Essen, EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG in Karlsruhe and MVV RHE GmbH in Mannheim, who purchase three-phase power and district heat (MVV RHE GmbH) at cost price.
